French Ringsport
May 5-6

Hi Bouvier Friends,

My local French Ringsport Club is hosting another working seminar with
Fernando Dosta on May 5-6. Anyone interested in attending, please feel
welcome to view the link below:

Fernando worked with Una and Ruby last weekend and was absolutely excellent.
He reads the dogs well, is endlessly patient and appropriate for the dog's
level of training. I would be happy to provide transportation from the
airport in MSP for anyone who chooses to fly in.

Bouvstock VI
June 1 & 2

BouvStock VI will be held in Sharon Springs, NY, again this year the first weekend in June
(that's the 1st and 2nd of June). Friday night we will be having dinner at the American Hotel in Sharon Springs, RSVP required a few weeks in advance so Michelle Curran can make arrangements with the hotel for the dinner...they will be giving us a special rate again. People can contact us and we will inform Michelle of who and how many will be there for dinner.

Saturday we will all meet at her place. Once again, Susan and I will be dressing the part in our Victorian era suits and others are invited to do the same. We will have a Bouv walk in the village afterwards. I

We are suggesting that people check in the Cobleskill area for motels, about 12 to 15 miles from Sharon Springs. People with campers are invited to set up at Michelle's place. And Michelle told us the American Hotel has one dog-friendly room.

It would be helpful if people would let is know if they think they will attend. The picnic will be "bring something to share." If anyone has questions, or wants to RSVP have them call us at 607-334-6006 (eves) or email (click submitted by link above).

Super 8 Motel - Cobleskill , NY
955 East Main Street
I-88 Exit 22;Rt 7 West
Cobleskill , NY , 12043 US
Phone: 518-234-4888
Rate: $75+TX/nite (Includes pet surcharge)

We are recommending the Super 8 in Cobleskill
, NY
. Dog friendly, reasonably priced and about 10 miles from Sharon Springs  where we will be meeting at Michelle's estate ( 123 Pavilion Ave Sharon Springs, NY). We are planning a Friday evening get together (dinner at a local Inn , Dutch Treat, very nice dinner, set price) for those who plan to be there by about 6:30 PM. The next day is a picnic, with everyone brining something (several hit the local store deli dept.) Michelle has fenced a nice big,75 x 100', or thereabouts, yard so dogs can get some exercise off lead if needed.

Dog Walk - 2007

Everyone is welcome to participate -- please come out and join our supporters at this popular event.

Bring your dog, if you have one, but a canine companion is not necessary to participate - there will be lots of dogs to watch and enjoy.

The mascot for this year's walk is Cody, a lovely dog rescued by FOAP after he was abandoned on a Rockland golf course; Cody will be escorted by the lucky folks who have recently adopted him. Walkers will be remembering 2005 mascot Yogi, a gentle Rottie who lost a battle with brain cancer late last year; the 2007 walk is dedicated to his memory. We're also hoping that Blackie and Nu-Pup will make an appearance; they are two Inuit sled dogs rescued in Nunavut and brought to Ottawa with FOAP's support - their arrival in the capital in November was featured in the Ottawa Citizen.

Please mark your calendar and join us. Registration forms will be available from pet food stores and veterinarians around town or they may be downloaded from this website.

Here are some details on the NAWBA Herding Events.

We are very happy to announce that Friday October 5 will be two AHBA trials open only to Bouviers des Flandres. The NAWBA Herding Champion 2007 will be decided based on scores earned during these two trials in Advanced level (Level 3) runs.

The Friday, Bouvier only Herding Trials aim to showcase Bouvier strengths as stock dogs. Specifically we will have two Large Flock Ranch classes (using around 25 sheep per run) and we will run two Herding Trial Arena Dog classes using more than the usual 3-5 head of  sheep.

There will also be ducks available for trialing (HTD and HTAD).

Bouv Event - BouvBash 07
Inverness, FLorida 2/29 to 03/02/2008

Bring your Bouvier for an introduction to the protection sports, testing your dog for protection sports (Schutzhund/IPO, French Ring, Mondio Ring), tracking lessons, obedience lessons, agility, herding, conformation handling, conformation grooming, pet grooming and carting.

We have the following instructors confirmed:

Ivan Balabalov: Friday, Saturday and Sunday: introduction to protection sports, testing individual dogs, workshop to prepare your dog for trialing and problem solving.

Carla v. Duijvenbode, Schutzhund/IPO tracking and obedience, individual problem solving.

We would like to put together a strong team NAWBA for AWDF for 2008! Our event will be approximately 1 month earlier -- mark your calendars and bring your dogs!!

Maria Monroe, show grooming, conformation handling

Angela McMurray, pet grooming

There will also be a herding seminar, with trainer to be announced and the possibility of obtaining your herding instinct test on Sunday.

There will be an agility instructor from Ocala.

There may be an AKC fun match with an AKC judge. There will be CGC testing and TDI testing for Bouviers on Sunday.

There will be a carting workshop.

The fees will be announced when all costs are confirmed. Food will be supplied with large tents on site which will either be heated or cooled, depending on the weather.

Start planning NOW for this event -- the weather in Florida can be chilly at that time of year or warm, but not stifling hot!

There will be facilities on site for camping, RVs and trailers.

There is a motel in the town of Inverness with rates between $49 to $59 per night, one time dog deposit of $25 if the dog is not kept in a crate, no deposit if the dog is crated any time that it is in the room. They will reserve one floor for people attending our event.

Each attendee will have one on one time with the instructors for their particular event(s).

Each event will be separate and you will have to confirm well ahead of time which activity you will be doing.

This will be not only FUN but an excellent place to come together to work with the BEST. Ivan just won the AWDF Championships, again

Margret, Florida
